MURDER 3 Movie REVIEW

Star cast: Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao Hydri, Sara Loren / Mona Laizaa, Rajesh Shringapure, Shekhar Shukla and Bugs Bhargava

Director: Vishesh Bhatt
Producer: Vishesh Films (Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt), Fox Star Studios
Music: Pritam, Roxan Band and Anupam Amod
Genre: Crime – Thriller
Censor Details: U/A (Hindi)

Synopsis: A hotshot fashion and wildlife photographer Vikram (Randeep Hooda) gets into a relationship with a waitress from a lounge, Nisha (Sara Loren). She moves in with him in his palatial house outside of the city. The old world house, made decades ago is as beautiful as scary it is. It holds many secrets, which Nisha is soon to unearth; of the life of the man who made it and of Vikram, who is dealing with the mysterious disappearance of his former girlfriend Roshni (Aditi Rao).

Script Analysis: Murder 3 is the official remake / adaptation of ‘The Hidden Face’ which is a Spanish film. The story here has been penned by Mahesh Bhatt and Amit Masrukar, who have written a kind of a plot, which indicates that it is a horror film in the first half, and thriller in the second.
The first half is a little slow but it has a few goofy moments to send a chill down your nerves. This is one of those rare films where I felt that the second half was much better than the first half. Dialogues by Sanjay Masoom were fine but lacked a few punches, which Randeep Hooda has had in his past few films like OUATIM and Jannat 2.

Direction and Music: Vishesh Bhatt, who makes his debut with this film as a director has handled the film well in some portions, especially the last hour. He hasn’t borrowed anything either from the first installment or the second. But still I felt that hailing from the family of such talented filmmakers, he lacked that flare which his father has used in directing films.
Music composed by 3 composers did not carry a single chartbuster unlike the other 2 previous installments. Even the music wasn’t promoted well enough to create some buzz around it.

Star Performances: Randeep Hooda did not play his role of Vikram well; maybe the role did not suit him well enough. Being a Murder franchise I was missing Emraam Hashmi. Aditi Rao Hydri is the star performer here. She has played her every role till now perfectly and this one enacts as a cherry on top.
Sara Loren who made her debut with Kajraa Re few years back was just about all right in her role of Nisha. She gets enough screen space but still doesn’t impress much.
Other supporting casts like Rajesh Shringapure, Shekhar Shukla and Bugs Bhargava were all fine in their respective roles.

Final Say: Murder 3 is an interesting movie where the suspense will keep you hooked to your seats till the end. But still the music of the film was unlike other 2 Murder movies and also I missed Emraan Hashmi.
