Salman Khan’s Hit and Run case occurred in the wee hours, as Khan in an inebriated state rammed his land cruiser into a bakery at Bandra, killing one and injuring four others.The accident took place around 3pm ,Sallu went to the police station around 10.45 ,and was tested at JJ hospital in Byculla.
Salman Khan was earlier tried for lesser charges under Section 304 (I), (rash and negligent driving) which attracts maximum punishment of two years.His trial began from Sept 22 and of the 39 witnesses ,24 were not summoned and on the day of the trial only one appeared to testify.
A magistrates court On Feb 1 2013 after investigation applied harsher charges on Salman Khan And a retrial started . Salman’s appeal against the harsher charges and the subsequent retrial were rejected by the session court. On June 24 he was asked to be present in the court but failed to do so ,was given a months time for his trail.
Today Salman Khan reached the court at the appointed time later was made to stand in box. His lawyer argued with the public prosecutor, and also declared that they will appeal to the High Court, on which the judge declared that he will not be able to return to the session court.
His family and good friend Aditya Pancholi were very much present to offer support. Inside the court, the argument was all about article 304 (1) and (2), The actor’s lawyer argued about no intention behind the act. While the prosecution insisted that drinking and driving is as good as murder. Sesion Judge U.B.Hejib announced that he will pass charges against Salman Khan on July 24.
Will Salman Khan end up behind Bars for a term of 10 years?
